With five straight wins, the Rockets (5-2) now lead the NBA in categories such as net rating; points per game; and rebounding and 3-point pecentage.

With five straight wins, the Houston Rockets (5-2) are tied for the NBA’s longest active winning streak. During that dominant stretch, their average margin of victory is a commanding 19.2 points per game.

That type of dominance has put Houston at or near the top in numerous important statistical categories, as it pertains to the young 2025-26 regular season.

Entering play on November 6, here are categories where the Rockets are among the league’s best (out of 30 teams):

Overall Net Rating: No. 1 (12.3)Point Differential: No. 1 (+13.0)Offensive Rating: No. 1 (122.4)Points Per Game: No. 1 (124.7)Defensive Rating: No. 6 (110.1)Rebounding Percentage: No. 1 (56.0%)Offensive Rebounding Percentage: No. 1 (40.2%)3-Point Percentage: No. 1 (42.7%)Free Throw Attempts Per Game: No. 2 (31.7)

Of course, it can be noted that each of Houston’s five wins (Brooklyn, Toronto, Boston, Dallas, Memphis) came against a team that is currently .500 or worse.

The two teams the Rockets have played with winning records were Oklahoma City and Detroit, and both were losses — albeit in very close games during the first week of the season.

But even considering the level of competition, Houston’s ratings and lofty statistical placements suggest that its improvements are real. Led by head coach Ime Udoka and a trio of stars in Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun, and Amen Thompson, the Rockets have the pedigree to potentially be among the league’s title contenders.

So, how will Houston stack up in its next test against a strong opponent? Fans won’t have to wait long to find out, as Houston visits San Antonio (No. 4 in net rating) on Friday night.

Tipoff between the Rockets and Spurs (5-2) is at 6:30 p.m. Central, and the game will be televised to a national audience via Prime Video. The Texas rivals are currently tied for the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference standings, and will also be the opener of Emirates NBA Cup 2025 play for both teams.
