The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel on the road to face the Sacramento Kings on Friday. It’s the third game of a four-game road trip for OKC. This will be the second matchup of the season between the two squads. OKC won the first matchup on Oct. 28.
This game will also count toward the 2025 NBA Cup. Both teams are part of the West’s Group A.
The Thunder (8-1) dropped their first defeat in a 121-119 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. After creating a 22-point lead, the short-handed squad slowly lost control. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 35 points but on 10-of-26 shooting. Three starters were out in Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Lu Dort.
Meanwhile, the Kings (3-5) beat the Curry-less Golden State Warriors in a 121-116 win on Wednesday. Russell Westbrook had a throwback with a 23-point triple-double. DeMar DeRozan scored 25 points.

Gilgeous-Alexander was in full control. Another game where he has 30 points in three quarters. Meanwhile, Hartenstein is having a career game with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Good quarter for the Thunder.
Caruso finds Joe on the mid-range jumper. Gilgeous-Alexander has found a groove. The Thunder are keeping their distance on the scoreboard.
A lot of offense for the Thunder. Hartenstien has 20 points and 10 rebounds. They scored 40 points in the second quarter to retake control of this one. All while Gilgeous-Alexander had a so-so first half. Westbrook has been the Kings’ best player and is doing a little bit of everything.
Joe with the smooth sidestep 3-pointer. LaVine then turns it over as he throws it out of bounds. Hartenstein is taking over with a surprising 20 points already. Eubanks can’t contain him
After the Thunder went up by 11 points, the Kings caught fire from deep. Westbrook and Monk led them from beyond the perimeter. The OKC offense struggled as Gilgeous-Alexander couldn’t score efficiently.
Another outside bucket for Westbook. That’s three three-pointers already by him. That forces the Thunder to call a timeout. Gilgeous-Alexander hasn’t found his groove yet.
The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ajay Mitchell, Cason Wallace, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. The Kings will start Russell Westbrook, Dennis Schroder, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Drew Eubanks.
