Arizona men’s basketball has its first commitment for the 2026 recruiting class.
Four-star forward Cameron Holmes, a top-35 player in the class, committed to Arizona over Dayton and North Carolina on Sunday. Holmes is a 6-6 wing out of Millennium High School in Goodyear, Ariz.
247Sports ranks Holmes as the No. 29 player in the 2026 class, including the No. 14 small forward and the No. 2 prospect out of Arizona. Holmes is the fourth in-state commitment under coach Tommy Lloyd, joining Koa Peat, Emmanuel Stephen, Kylan Boswell and Dylan Anderson.
Holmes is described by 247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein as a “lefty wing who came up the ranks with a big early reputation.”
“He’s had the maturity to take that in stride and grow into a very solid and versatile two-way player, who rarely gets caught up in trying too hard to prove himself,” writes Finkelstein. “He has solid measurables at 6-foot-6 in shoes with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, good athleticism, and functional strength without boasting a ton of visible muscle mass.”
Finkelstein writes that Holmes “projects as a good multi-year college player.”
Holmes is the younger brother of 2024 first round pick DaRon Holmes II, who was a Second-Team All-American at Dayton.
Holmes is the first piece of what could be another another blockbuster recruiting class for Lloyd and Co. Arizona is one of three finalists for five-star forward Cameron Williams, the No. 4 player in the class. Arizona is also in the mix for five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt, the No. 5 player in the class.
The first day of the fall signing period for men’s basketball is Wednesday.
