Before Sunday’s game, Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers was asked for his recollections of the classic Game 7 between the Bucks and Brooklyn Nets in the second round of the 2021 NBA playoffs. That game featured Kevin Durant knocking down a long 2-point jumper at the end of regulation to force overtime. If Durant’s toe hadn’t been on the line, the Nets would have won the game. Instead, the Bucks took advantage of KD’s large sneakers, surviving to win in overtime, advance past the Nets and eventually win the franchise’s second NBA title, the team’s first since 1971.

On Sunday, Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo went toe-to-toe in another close game, but this time, Durant’s team came out on top, with the Rockets pulling out a 122-115 win with a late fourth-quarter comeback.

Durant ended the game with 29 points and seven assists and made some big plays late with five points and four assists in the final quarter, but his teammate Alperen Şengün ended up being the one to close the game with 10 fourth-quarter points to end the game with 23 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Antetokounmpo was spectacular for the Bucks with 37 points, eight rebounds and three assists, but missed four free throws in the final 90 seconds and committed two turnovers in the final three minutes as the Bucks tried to close out what would have been their best win of the season over one of the best teams in the Western Conference.
