Suns’ G Jalen Green on experience recovering from injury before debut

Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green explains what it was like to deal with and recover from injury. Green returned and made his Suns debut on Nov. 6, 2025.

INGLEWOOD — Jalen Green needed help off the court after reinjuring his right hamstring late in the first quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Intuit Dome.

The Suns committed a foul to stop the clock as Green was helped off the court by two Suns staff members with 22.3 seconds left in the first quarter.

Green started the game before checking out with 6:05 left in the first. He scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting. He checked back into the game with 1:15 remaining in the first before reinjuring his hamstring.

The Suns later confirmed it was indeed an injury to Green’s right hamstring.

Green was driving to the rim, kicked the ball out to Ryan Dunn and starting to immediately limp towards the corner in front of the Suns bench.

Green missed the first eight games with a strained right hamstring that he initially hurt in training camp before Phoenix’s preseason opener. He reaggravated the hamstring during the team’s weeklong stay in China for two preseason games against the Brooklyn Nets.

Green made his debut in Thursday’s win over the Clippers, scoring 29 points. He set a Suns debut record for made 3s with six on 13 attempts.

Green didn’t miss a game in his two previous seasons with the Houston Rockets. The Suns acquired Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft, 7-footer Khaman Maluach, from the Rockets in the Kevin Durant trade.

The Suns just got Dillon Brooks back after he missed six games with a core muscle strain to mark the first time they had a fully healthy roster Saturday.
