HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT) – Rockcastle County native Kim Renner traveled nearly two hours to take her two grandchildren to Trent Noah’s free Basketball ProCamp in Harlan County on Saturday, May 17.

The family originally planned to make the drive during the Friday evening several surrounding EKY counties were struck by tornadoes and strong storms, but waited until it was safe early Saturday morning to go to Harlan County High School.
“We came this morning,” Renner said. “So, we started to come last night and then they called for the tornado, so we stayed at home.”
Renner told WYMT her grandchildren were worried about missing the event, but luckily were able to still make memories with Noah.
“My two grandsons love basketball, so they were excited,” Renner said. “My 11-year-old [Gavin Harrison] was afraid he wasn’t going to get to be here, so he prayed about it and we showed up this day.”
What made the moment even more special was that playing alongside Noah at his camp marked the first time Renner’s seven-year-old grandchild Liam Harrison had ever played the game of basketball.
