The Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the most exciting teams of the 2025 Playoffs, mostly due to their star duo of Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle.
Their dynamic has helped the Timberwolves reach their peak in the Playoffs despite a rocky 2024-25 regular season. Edwards is the clear superstar, but Randle has proven he belongs in the conversation as one of the top players on the team.

After winning two Playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors, the Timberwolves are peaking at the right time.

Edwards and Randle have been the clear stars in the Western Conference, as they had two five-game series where they were spearheading the charge. It has been a tough postseason for multiple teams, but the Timberwolves have been better than most teams.

Randle Respects Edwards’ Dynamic With Him
Most basketball fans were confused when the Timberwolves traded away Karl-Anthony Towns for a package of Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. The team was coming off a successful Western Conference Finals run in 2024, but they made a significant change.

Towns was considered an icon in Minnesota because he stayed loyal for almost a decade. The skeptics were right early in the season because Randle and DiVincenzo struggled. That is not the case today because they have found a home in Minneapolis.
“It’s incredible, he never has a bad day. He never comes in moody or not wanting to talk or wanting to work. He always puts in a lot of effort, he does a lot of talking and communicating,” Randle said ahead of the Western Conference Finals.”He’s just Ant, you guys see him, that’s who he is every single day, he doesn’t change.”
That encapsulates Edwards as a teammate because he is always working hard. He might have the reputation of being a big personality who talks trash, but he backs them up through his production, which stems from his hard work in practice and the film room.
The Timberwolves Go As Far As The Duo Takes Them
The Timberwolves have a fantastic supporting cast, with Rudy Gobert and DiVincenzo leading the way for the role players. However, the Timberwolves will only go as far as Edwards and Randle take them.

This has been the main story of the Timberwolves’ postseason run because Randle has been consistent, while Edwards has been phenomenal. Ant has had some quiet games in terms of scoring, but he always makes an impact with his playmaking.
The rest of the team’s role is to step up when they need to shoot. Timberwolves fans are thankful that has been happening with Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid having big performances.
If they can keep helping Randle and Edwards spearhead the charge, the Timberwolves could reach the NBA Finals. Of course, that is not set in stone yet, but the team has all the tools to become a Finals team, possibly even a championship-winning side.
