Penn State basketball begins new season at home against Fairfield

Penn State’s men’s basketball team returns to action in the Bryce Jordan Center on Tuesday night. What more fitting opponent on this Veterans Day than the Navy Midshipmen?

Penn State is off to a 2-0 start to the season after picking up a pair of nonconference wins last week. Penn State cruised to a victory in its first road game of the season over the weekend at New Haven. Penn State blew away the Division I newcomer by a historic margin, 87-43. Star freshman guard Kayden Mingo is off to a solid start ot his college career with 15.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in his first two games.

Navy is coming into Happy Valley with a 1-1 record after a 97-68 loss to Yale on Friday, The Midshipmen picked up a road win at Presbyterian in the team’s season opener a week ago under first-year head coach Jon Perry.

This is the 58th all-time meeting between Penn State and Navy, but this is the first meeting between the two programs in 40 years. Penn State is 10-3 all-time against Navy at home.
