The Philadelphia 76ers will have plenty of options to turn to when the 2025 NBA draft rolls around on June 25. The lottery results granted them with the No. 3 overall pick which means they are guaranteed one of the top talents in what is expected to be a deep draft rich with talent.
There will be plenty of options for President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey and Co. to choose from. Top prospects such as Ace Bailey, VJ Edgecombe, Tre Johnson, and others will certainly draw a lot of attention with that selection.
Sixers star Paul George has a lot of praise for Bailey, in particular, as he has given him a lot of love in the past. He doubled down on that praise on an episode of “Podcast P with Paul George”:
I think he has big-time potential. He has big-time talent. He can score from any spot on the floor. He has an isolation game, which you don’t see that often in kids that size, that early. He can make plays. He can shoot over top of defenses. He can take advantage of mismatches. He can handle the ball in pick-and-rolls. He can catch-and-shoot. He can defend. I’ve seen him play elite defense, on chase down blocks, running guys off 3s, defending, keeping guys in front of I think he just has tremendous talent. If there was no Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey would have been an even bigger name that people would have been talking about in this draft. I love his upside, man. I’ve been a fan of his game for a little while now. I think he’s going to be huge in the league. He’s definitely going to come to the league, and people think it might take him a minute based off of his skill set, but I think he’s gonna come into the league and make noise right away.
Bailey averaged 17.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists during his freshman season with the Scarlet Knights. He will now look to carry that type of production over to the NBA level and make an impact on any team that chooses him. If it’s the Sixers, then he will have a lot of pressure placed upon him as he looks to make an impact on a team that still has championship hopes in 2025-26.
