The Milwaukee Bucks (7-4) visit the Charlotte Hornets (3-7) tonight at Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
Giannis Antetokounmpo will be out for tonight’s game as he deals with left knee patellar tendinopathy. That’s a major loss for the Bucks — Giannis has been playing at an MVP level, averaging 33.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists through 10 games.
Still, Milwaukee won the only prior game he’s missed this season, a 120–110 victory over the Golden State Warriors. Ryan Rollins led the way in that win with 32 points, while eight Bucks players scored in double figures.
Tonight, Milwaukee will look for that same balance against a defensively challenged Hornets team that remains without its offensive anchor, LaMelo Ball, for the fifth straight game due to an ankle injury.
The Hornets are 1–3 without him and have dropped three straight, including a loss to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans. Before being sidelined, Ball was having a stellar season, averaging 23.3 points, 9.8 assists, and 7.8 rebounds.
Prediction
Milwaukee has the depth and two-way balance to shut down Charlotte tonight, especially with Ball out. The Hornets have averaged 110 points over the past three games. Tonight’s total should be just around that.
Prediction: Bucks 118, Hornets 107
