See the latest injury update for Magic forward Paolo Banchero, who headed to the locker room early during Wednesday’s game against the Knicks.
UPDATE: Paolo Banchero (groin) will not return to Wednesday’s game. Jonathan Isaac started the second half in his place.
Orlando Magic star Paolo Banchero suffered a groin injury during Wednesday’s game vs. the New York Knicks and is officially questionable to return.
Banchero checked out of the game in the second quarter and headed back to the locker room. Per Magic PR, the injury is a left groin strain.
Banchero played 12 minutes on Wednesday prior to the injury, recording four points, two assists and four rebounds. Jonathan Isaac or Tristan da Silda could see additional time at the four if he does not return.
The 6-foot-10 forward is celebrating his 25th birthday today. He averages 23.3 PPG with 9.1 rebounds, both of which are team-highs. Banchero also posts 4.3 assists per game as a primary ball-handler for the Magic, so his all-around contributions will be missed if he misses any time.
Prior to the conclusion of Wednesday’s game vs. the Knicks, the Magic old a 5-6 record and sit 10th in the Eastern Conference.
