Suns’ Grayson Allen reflects on his career-high scoring game
Grayson Allen scored a career-high 42 points, hitting 10 shots from 3, in the Phoenix Suns’ victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 10, 2025.
DALLAS — The Phoenix Suns extended their season-long win streak to four games after topping the short-handed Dallas Mavericks, 123-114, before a sellout crowd of 19,501 at American Airlines Center on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
All five Phoenix starters reached double figures as Devin Booker scored a game-high 26 points.
The Suns led by as many as 18 points in the second half after taking a 10-point halftime lead. They shot 14-of-35 from 3 and scored 52 points in the paint.
Phoenix (7-5) came into the game 28th in the NBA in paint points at 41.1. The Suns scored 31 off 21 Dallas turnovers.
Dallas (3-9) cut Phoenix’s lead down to three, 115-112, with 1:48 left in the fourth, but Phoenix held off the Mavs in winning a second straight road game.
Suns 7-footer Mark Williams blocked Brandon Williams’ 3 with 68 seconds remaining after Grayson Allen put Phoenix up five with an inside bucket.
The Suns were without Jalen Green, who will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks with a right hamstring strain. Green has played just two games with the Suns.
The Mavs were down Anthony Davis (left calf strain), Kyrie Irving (left knee surgery), Dereck Lively II (right knee sprain) and Dante Exum (right knee injury management).
Now 6-1 in their last seven games, the Suns return to Phoenix to face the 1-10 Indiana Pacers, losers of their last five games, at 7 p.m., Nov. 13, at Mortgage Matchup Center.
Booker leads Suns to 10-point halftime lead
The Phoenix Suns took a 63-53 halftime lead as Devin Booker had 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting as he repeatedly got to the rim and scored.
Jordan Goodwin has provided scoring punch off the bench with 13, going 3-of-4 from distance.
The Suns closed the first quarter on a 12-0 run to take a 30-28 lead going into the second quarter after trailing by as many as 10 points.
They extended their lead to 11 in the second quarter. Dallas trimmed that to six, but Phoenix rebuilt its advantage to 10 on a four-point trip.
Daniel Gafford fouled Dillon Brooks on a free throw boxout. Brooks fell to the floor, thus leading to the play being reviewed. Gafford’s foul was deemed unnecessary and ruled a flagrant. Brooks made the two free throws and Mark Williams later scored on a putback with 2.1 seconds left to give Phoenix its 10-point halftime lead.
Brooks scored eight of his 11 points in the second quarter.
Mavs rookie Cooper Flagg had seven points on 3-of-8 shooting.
Jalen Green update; Suns, Mavs starting lineups
Phoenix Suns coach Jordan Ott didn’t reveal much about the results of the “multiple tests” the Suns ran on Jalen Green, who will be out four to six weeks with a right hamstring strain.
Asked prior to Wednesday night’s game if that timetable is a best-case scenario for Green, he said: “We’re so far away from that. We’ll continue to see how it progresses.”
On if there were any tears or damage to hamstring: “Again, we’ll stick to that statement. We’ll continue to bring in as much information as we can. These things are so tricky. We want to do what’s best for him.”
The Suns will start Devin Booker, Grayson Allen, Dillon Brooks, Royce O’Neale and Mark Williams against the Mavs.
This is Phoenix’s sixth different starting lineup through 12 games. Those five started together for the first time in Monday’s 121-98 victory Nov. 10 over the New Orleans Pelicans at Mortgage Matchup Center.
The Mavericks are starting Brandon Williams, Max Christie, rookie Cooper Flagg, P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford. The Mavs (3-8) will be without Anthony Davis (left calf strain), Kyrie Irving (left knee surgery), Dereck Lively II (right knee sprain) and Dante Exum (right knee injury management).
