
Luka Doncic addresses Mavericks firing Nico Harrison as general manager
Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic said there’s always “going to be a part of me” in Dallas, but he didn’t want to speak in-depth about the Mavericks firing Nico Harrison.
The OKC Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 121-92 in a dominant home win on Wednesday night.
Following the game, Lakers star Luka Doncic was asked about former Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison, who was fired on Monday following the Mavericks’ 3-9 start to the 2025-26 season.
Doncic spent spent nearly seven seasons in Dallas after being drafted there in 2018 until his shocking trade to the Los Angeles in February.
“The city of Dallas, the fans, players — they all have a special place in my in my heart,” Doncic said. “I thought I was going to stay there forever, but I didn’t…Right now, my focus is on the Lakers and I’m trying to move on. But obviously, always there’s going to be a part of me there.”
When asked if he could ever see himself returning to play for the Mavericks one day, Doncic responded, “Right now I’m just focused on the Lakers. No further comments.”
