The Milwaukee Bucks (7-5) host the Charlotte Hornets (4-7) tonight at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
These teams just met on Wednesday, when the Hornets took a 111-100 win despite both Giannis Antetokounmpo and LaMelo Ball — their leading scorers — on the sidelines.
The Bucks are far more dependent on Giannis than Charlotte is on Ball. Myles Turner stepped up with 21 points and has been trending upward after a slow start, but replacing Giannis’ production — 33.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game — is an almost impossible task. The good news for Milwaukee is that Giannis is probable for tonight.
Charlotte is 2-3 without Ball, who has been flirting with a triple-double average at 23.3 points, 9.8 assists, and 7.8 rebounds. But Miles Bridges has stepped up in his absence, and rookie Kon Knueppel is making the most of the extra minutes. He’s averaging 19.0 points per game this month, including a 30-point performance against the Miami Heat last Friday.
Prediction
With home-court advantage, a likely Giannis return, and a deeper overall rotation, the Bucks should bounce back.
Prediction: Bucks 123, Hornets 109
