Whoever is in charge of scheduling ACC basketball games decided that North Carolina needed a 9 PM game against NC Central on a Friday night. It almost certainly had something to do with Duke playing at 7 PM, which really shouldn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Regardless, it is what it is and the Heels are seeking their fourth win in a row against an Eagles team that hasn’t had a great time so far this season.
NCCU has already had to face off against NC State and Virginia so far, and both games were blowouts. The Heels shouldn’t have a hard time winning this game, but one of the storylines that could carry over from their game against Radford is whether or not the refs will try to ruin the game again. Four Highlanders players fouled out during that game, and Caleb Wilson ended up in foul trouble rapidly in the first half. Hopefully the referees just let them play a bit more tonight, because this is too late of a game to watch zebra ball.

Another storyline tonight will be Luka Bogavac’s production in the starting lineup. He struggled to get his shot to fall like he wanted to against Radford, and he had some harsh words for himself after that game as well. The ball should start going in at a higher clip sooner than later, but the big question is when. Hubert Davis could use this game as another opportunity to let his former pro shoot through it, so don’t be surprised if we see similar volume from Bogavac that we saw in the last contest.
