No Jalen Brunson? No OG Anunoby?

No problem for the injury-riddled Knicks, who got a career-best performance from Landry Shamet in Friday night’s 140-132 win over the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden.

Shamet erupted for a career-high 36 points on 12-of-19 shooting off the bench, giving the Knicks a major spark on a night they were short-handed.

He finished 6-of-12 on 3-point attempts and with a point differential of +11.

“We have a system that bodes well for connectivity,” Shamet said. “The ball moves. It can be any one of us any night. I think we were just playing within our system. Sometimes shots find you.”

Brunson missed Friday’s game with a Grade 1 right ankle sprain, while Anunoby suffered a left hamstring strain in the first quarter and did not return.

That led to a season-high 37 minutes for Shamet, who scored 30 points in the second half, including 15 in the fourth quarter.

Chants of “Land-ry Sham-et” turned to chants of “M-V-P” from an awestruck Garden crowd of 19,812.

Shamet’s previous career high was 31 points, a feat he’d achieved twice before.

“Whatever it takes,” Shamet said. “We’ve got Jalen out. We lose OG early there, and we got great contributions across the board from everyone. It’s the mentality we have to have and we’ll continue to have.”

Last season under then-head coach Tom Thibodeau, Shamet averaged 5.7 points in 15.2 minutes per game over 50 appearances, all off the bench.

Shamet earned the Knicks’ final roster spot this season, aided by the sudden retirement of backup guard Malcolm Brogdon.

But Shamet has carved out a sizable role under head coach Mike Brown, entering Friday averaging 7.6 points in 19.2 minutes per game. He’s started three of the Knicks’ first 12 games.

“As a new coach, you watch the tape from last year, and what I saw last year, he shot almost 40% from the 3,” Brown said after Friday’s win. “But more than anything else, defensively, you feel him defensively.”

Shamet, 28, led a Knicks bench unit that totaled 75 points. Jordan Clarkson scored a season-high 24 points on 6-of-13 shooting in 33 minutes, while Josh Hart delivered his first triple-double of the season with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in 34 minutes.

That trio was part of the Knicks lineup that closed out the game, with Shamet going 4-of-5 from the field, including 2-of-3 on 3-pointers, in the final quarter.

“It was huge, him coming out, being aggressive, knocking down shots, playing off the dribble,” Hart said. “He was amazing for us today. That’s something that was big for us. We need him to keep that confidence and continue to be rolling.”
