ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero has suffered a left groin strain, An MRI conducted Thursday afternoon confirmed.
Banchero sustained the injury in the first half of Wednesday night’s game at New York, which the Magic won against the Knicks at Madision Square Garen, . He did not play against Brooklyn on Friday night, will continue to be evaluated, and his return will depend on how he responds to treatment, the Orlando Magic said in an official release.
Paolo Banchero exited in the first half with a left groin strain. He was initially questionable to return, but the decision was made to keep him out during halftime.
Banchero’s absence didn’t hurt the team.

For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson paced the offense with 31 points and six assists, and Karl-Anthony Towns posted a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. With the win, the Magic improve to 6–6 on the season, while the Knicks fall to 7–4.
The Magic have now won five of their last seven games and in this timeframe rank in the top 10 in both offense and defense. Orlando has scored over 120 points six times this season. Last year, it did this only nine times across their 82 games.

“We’ve known that we can do it,” said Bane, of his team’s defense. “We have to be consistent with it, night after night. Obviously, having J-Suggs back in the lineup tonight obviously helps. Down the board, you look at a guy like Jonathan Isaac and what he’s been able to bring coming off the bench.”
