As the NBA season has drawn a close for a lot of teams in the league, front offices and insiders have been looking towards organizations that could be a fresh start for some of the biggest names in the NBA.

Ex-NBA player and three-time champion Danny Green went to NBA Today to tell his thoughts on what should happen for a couple of struggling teams that may need a change within their roster.

The Miami Heat have been a hot topic after sustaining back-to-back blowout losses to the Cleveland Cavaliers that ultimately put an end to Miami’s dramatic 2025 season.

Danny Green believes Giannis Antetokounmpo or Kevin Durant are only targets for Heat

“The only guys they really can get is either Giannis [Antetokounmpo] or KD. It’s hard to get Giannis with the pieces you have… It seems impossible because you’re either going to have to give up Bam [Adebayo] or Tyler Herro,” Green told NBA insider Bobby Marks.

Marks responded, saying, “I think either player is going to be a challenge. They’re going to probably be in the back of the line of teams that have more available.”

Miami could be in a large problem heading into next season if they are still thinking they have a good chance of winning an NBA championship.

Although Giannis Antetokounmpo has teased the idea of leaving Milwaukee to join a team that has a more realistic chance of winning championships, the Miami Heat might not be the more interesting team with the situation they are in.

Bobby Marks brought up the idea that another team might be in a better situation at this point, “Certainly we are talking about maybe Houston as one of those teams that has young players and draft picks.”

It will be interesting to see if Giannis Antetokounmpo will make the move from the team he has spent his entire career with and won a ring in 2021.

As for Kevin Durant, it seems as he is also unhappy with his spot in the Phoenix Suns organization and might be interested in joining a different franchise.
