The Philadelphia 76ers (7-4) visit the Detroit Pistons (10-2) tonight at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

The Pistons enter as the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, riding an eight-game winning streak and boasting the conference’s best record. Their offense continues to build rhythm, while their defense remains one of the league’s most reliable units — a two-way balance that has made them one of the toughest outs in the NBA.

Cade Cunningham leads the way with 27.5 points and 9.9 assists per game. He’s coming off a 46-point outburst against the Washington Wizards in overtime and a 34-point showing against the Brooklyn Nets — both against struggling defenses.

Detroit’s most impressive win, however, came in its most recent outing against the Chicago Bulls, who were playing without Josh Giddey. Despite being without Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Tobias Harris, and Ausar Thompson — their four leading scorers — the Pistons still pulled out a victory. Paul Reed and Duncan Robinson stepped up with 28 and 23 points, respectively, underscoring the depth and resilience of this roster. Thompson and Harris remain out tonight, while Cunningham and Duren are game-time decisions.

The 76ers, meanwhile, will again be without Joel Embiid (knee), while Paul George (knee) has yet to return. Rookie VJ Edgecombe is questionable. Philadelphia has dropped three of its last five, including a 111–108 loss to the Pistons earlier this week. Embiid did not play in that game either, and Tyrese Maxey shouldered the offensive load with 33 points — right in line with his season average of 32.1.

Prediction

Given Detroit’s momentum, home-court advantage, and comparatively healthier rotation, the Pistons are well-positioned to take this matchup.

Prediction: Pistons 119, 76ers 112
