The Denver Nuggets (9-2) visit the Minnesota Timberwolves (8-4) tonight at Target Center in Minneapolis for a showdown between two of the Western Conference’s most electric offenses.

Denver enters riding a six-game winning streak, powered by elite efficiency on both ends. The Nuggets are averaging 124.5 points per game during the streak while pairing it with the league’s second-best defense, trailing only the Oklahoma City Thunder.

At the center of it all is Nikola Jokic — a 6’11”, 284-pound Swiss Army knife who continues to redefine what a superstar can be. He’s fresh off a 55-point masterpiece against the LA Clippers on Wednesday and is averaging a triple-double for the season: 28.8 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 10.9 assists on a ridiculous 68.4% shooting.

His supporting cast is humming as well. Jamal Murray is averaging 22.0 points per game, and Aaron Gordon adds 19.6. Denver remains the ultimate “sum of its parts” team — with its biggest part being one of the best players the sport has ever seen.

Minnesota, meanwhile, has surged since the return of Anthony Edwards, winning four straight, including a 144-point eruption against the Sacramento Kings. The Wolves survived Edwards’ four-game absence thanks to Julius Randle stepping into a lead role — something he’s accustomed to given his tenure with the New York Knicks. Randle is having one of his best seasons, averaging 25.4 points, 6.1 assists, and 7.5 rebounds, giving Edwards a perfect co-star on the wing.

Prediction

Denver’s balance and current form give them the edge, even on the road — but Minnesota’s firepower should keep this one close.

Prediction: Nuggets 125, Timberwolves 121
