Star forward Jayson Tatum is making an impact with the Boston Celtics even though he is not able to play for his team while recovering from the Achilles tendon injury he suffered vs. the New York Knicks in the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The St. Louis native has been staying close to his team even while working on his Achilles rehab. This has allowed Tatum to serve as a de facto assistant coach with the players Boston is developing this season to bolster the team’s next era of contention once the Duke alum is healthy again. The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over.
