The New York Knicks absolutely dismantled the reigning defending NBA Champions, the Boston Celtics, in Game 6 where the stakes were the highest. In the Eastern Conference semifinals we saw the New York Knicks take on the Boston Celtics, and after the Knicks managed to get two wins at TD Garden, there was still a lot of hope that the Celtics would come back into the series. In Game 3, the Celtics cruised to a victory, and there were real concerns about if the Knicks would be able to hold on. However, in a close Game 4, where Celtics’ superstar Jayson Tatum had dropped 42 points already, he ended up tearing his Achilles, which ultimately gave the Knicks all the momentum to take a commanding 3-1 lead.

However, the Celtics still refused to give up in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, the defending champs decimated the Knicks at TD Garden which ultimately put a lot of doubt in many Knicks fans’ mind about if they could close out the series heading back to Madison Square Garden at New York. Ultimately, the Knicks came out laser focused and the game was over by the end of the third quarter. Jalen Brunson dropped 23 points, OG Anunoby managed to score 23 points, Josh Hart had a triple-double, Mikal Bridges had 10 points, Miles McBride came off the bench and added 10 more points, and Karl-Anthony Towns also helped with some of the scoring dropping 21 points, and 12 rebounds.

The overall performance by the Knicks was fantastic in this series, and even though Tatum went down, this game was arguably the biggest game for the Knicks in the last 25 years. After the game, Towns dropped a heartfelt take and let’s find out what he said.

Karl-Anthony Towns Shouted Out His Brothers for Knicks’ Success So Far

After the victory against the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Towns was asked about how he felt about beating the Celtics in 6 games and what it meant for the Knicks fans and the atmosphere at the Madison Square Garden, to which he replied, “It was electric. It’s been electric all year though but they found another level tonight. This was special… It’s been 25 years since they’ve seen the Eastern Conference Finals so for fans it was special, for us as players you know, we wanted to give them what they deserved.”

KAT shouted out all of his brothers that helped him on the path to success and said, “The brothers that was with me on Saturday at the Gauchos Gym, Sundays at Rucker Park, to my Dominicans that’s been supporting me… Washinton Heights… All the Dominicans in New York that have been just showing up and showing out. I think this is something special for me to provide this moment for them. They sacrificed… To let me work on my game… I dedicate this to them. They prepared me for this moment. They prepared me to be a Knick. I don’t know if I’d have this moment without them.”

Towns has been playing well for the Knicks and has helped them win a lot of games this season, including the regular season. When the Knicks made the trade during the offseason for him, this moment was exactly was he was brought to New York for. Now that the Knicks are in the Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years, they will take on the Indiana Pacers, who are extremely well-coached, have the depth, and are great offensively. The series will likely go to 7 games, and Towns will need to be at his best to battle the Pacers who’ve just knocked out the best team in the Eastern Conference.
