The Brooklyn Nets are hoping that this offseason can lead to plenty of changes on the roster that will set the team up for future success. Brooklyn will be relying on the organization and the people in place to attract free-agents, but location could be the deciding factor for some.

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo may be leaving the Bucks this summer if he decides that he wants Milwaukee to trade him to another team that can provide him with what he wants. While it is still too early in the summer to know if Antetokounmpo is definitely leaving the Bucks, he is still dropping hints on where he would go.

Antetokounmpo was asked on X what is his favorite road city to play in, he simply said “New York” in response to the question. Granted, the Nets and the New York Knicks play in New York City so Antetokounmpo isn’t necessarily saying which team he would want to play for if he were to leave Milwaukee this offseason via trade.

ESPN’s Shams Charania recently reported that Antetokounmpo will be open-minded about his future following another season in which the Bucks lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Indiana Pacers. More to the point, NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Antetokounmpo is expected to meet with Milwaukee next week, meaning that it’ll be known soon whether he is staying or going.

Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported earlier in the year that Antetokounmpo remains the preferred target for the Nets if he were to be traded away so any news pertaining to the Greek superstar potentially leaving is good news for Brooklyn. At the very least, it’s clear that Antetokounmpo enjoys playing in New York City and that could give them the edge over teams in different states like the Houston Rockets, for example.
