The Chicago Bulls (6-6) visit the Denver Nuggets (10-2) tonight at the Ball Arena in Denver.
Chicago is searching for a break after dropping five straight, but they won’t find one against a surging Denver team riding a seven-game winning streak. The Nuggets are steamrolling opponents, with double-digit margins in each of their last six victories. Only one loss separates them from the 13-1 Oklahoma City Thunder — the two teams setting a pace far above the rest of the league.
Nikola Jokic is putting together another MVP-level season, averaging 28.7 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 10.9 assists — essentially a nightly triple-double. He opened the season leaning more into playmaking, but since November 3, he has cranked up the scoring to 34.6 points per game, including a 55-point explosion against the LA Clippers. Denver hasn’t lost since that shift.
But the Nuggets aren’t true contenders without Jokic’s core partners. Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon are producing at standout levels, averaging 22.1 and 19.9 points per game, respectively. Coupled with a top-three offense and a top-two defense, Denver’s balance is generating not just wins — but blowouts.
For the Bulls, the timing couldn’t be worse. They enter tonight after a draining double-overtime loss last night. They did welcome back Coby White, who made his season debut with 27 points against the Utah Jazz, picking up right where he left off last season. Josh Giddey also returned from injury and delivered 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists — his third triple-double this month.
But White will rest tonight on the second night of the back-to-back, meaning Chicago won’t have its full firepower available. This matchup sets up as a difficult one, though the Bulls appear better positioned for a climb back into the Eastern Conference race now that key pieces are returning.
Prediction
The Nuggets’ overwhelming balance, fresher legs, and Denver altitude should break this open early, leaving Chicago chasing all night.
Prediction: Nuggets 125, Bulls 111
