MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant is expected to be sidelined with a right calf strain for the next two weeks.

On Saturday, Morant logged only six minutes in the first quarter before leaving the game with what the team called soreness in his right calf.

Monday, the team then announced Morant sustained a Grade 1 right calf strain in the first quarter of the Grizzlies’ road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 15th.

Morant has played in 12 of the Grizzlies’ games this season and is averaging 17.9 points, 7.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds, and 1 steal, while shooting a career low 35 percent and 16.7 percent from three.

The Grizzlies are back in action Tuesday night on the road at San Antonio.
