Buddy Hield has been a key rotation player for the Golden State Warriors this season. The 6-foot-4 guard-forward has played in all 15 games thus far, including Sunday’s 124-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Hield came off the bench to help lead the Warriors to their third straight win. The 32-year-old registered 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, two rebounds, two assists, three steals and three triples in 20 minutes of action.

Hield, however, has now popped up on Golden State’s injury report ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Orlando Magic, which has suddenly placed a cloud over his status for the upcoming matchup.

Hield is currently in his second season with the Warriors. He joined the team in 2024 as part of a massive six-team trade that saw Klay Thompson take his talents to the Dallas Mavericks. It was a sign-and-trade deal for Hield, who put pen to paper on a four-year contract. In 15 games played this season, the former Oklahoma Sooners star has averaged 6.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 triples in 16.8 minutes off the bench.

The Warriors announced on Monday that Hield is dealing with an undisclosed illness. According to the official injury report, the veteran is listed as probable to play.
This is a development that is worth noting because it is the first mention of Hield’s illness. It is worth noting that Steph Curry also missed three games earlier this month due to illness. However, the fact that Hield is considered probable means that, barring any unforeseen setbacks, he should be good to go for Tuesday’s game.
The Warriors also announced, however, that Jonathan Kuminga has been ruled out against Orlando. This will be Kuminga’s third consecutive game on the shelf due to a knee injury.

Golden State enters its matchup against the Magic with a 9-6 record. The contest will be played in Orlando’s Kia Center, marking the Warriors’ fifth out of their current six-game road trip. They play twice in two nights, with a showdown against the Miami Heat scheduled for Wednesday.
