Perhaps the biggest star in Kentucky’s 2026 recruiting class — five-star point guard Maddyn Greenway — is now officially a Wildcat. She is the third signee of the class for Kenny Brooks and the staff, joining Emily McDonald and Savvy Swords.
Greenway is the No. 9 player in Rivals Industry Rankings, making her Kentucky’s highest-ranked recruit since 2013 (Linnae Harper, No. 5).

The 5-foot-8 point guard picked the Cats over the likes of Stanford, UCLA, Duke, Clemson and then Iowa. Her father, Chad, was a linebacker for the Hawkeyes before spending over a decade playing for the Minnesota Vikings, and her mother, Jenni, was a track star there. Kind of like Savvy Swords not wanting to follow her sister, Syla, to Michigan, Greenway is charting her own path.
“I’ve been a Hawkeye fan my whole life, with both my parents having gone there,” Greenway told KSR when she committed. “Obviously, with my dad, I’ve lived in Minnesota my whole life, and I’ve always been under his shadow, so I just wanted to make my own path.”
She’ll certainly get that opportunity in Lexington. If all goes to plan, she should end up being the next great Kenny Brooks point guard.
