The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel to face the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. Last time they met, the Thunder enjoyed an easy win on Nov. 2. This will be the second matchup of the season between the two squads. It’s the end of a mini two-game road trip for OKC.

The Thunder (13-1) have won five in a row. A second-half surge helped them collect a 109-96 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an efficient 33 points in three quarters. Chet Holmgren scored 25 points on high volume.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans (2-11) are on the second night of a home back-to-back. They had a 124-106 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. Trey Murphy III scored 20 points. And that was about it in terms of positive takeaways.

Really good response by the Thunder. Gilgeous-Alexander reached 23 points. He should be done for the night. This should be another fourth quarter filled with garbage time.

Wallace with another steal. Gilgeous-Alexander finds an open Holmgren for the 3-pointer off the double. He knocks down the outside shot.

Pretty poor second quarter by the Thunder. They were outscored 32-20. That let the Pelicans get right back into it with a manageable halftime deficit. After such a lethargic second frame, it will be interesting to see how OKC responds after the break.

Murphy III with another outside bucket. He has 13 points already. New Orleans is surprisingly shooting well from the field at 58%

Quite the first quarter for the Thunder. Everything went in offensively. To the point that they tried a handful of behind-the-back passes.

Dort hits another outside shot. He’s made four 3-pointers already. Everything is going OKC’s way. And the Pelicans look out of synch with a bunch of miscue turnovers.

The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cason Wallace, Lu Dort, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. The Pelicans will start Jeremiah Fears, Herbert Jones, Trey Murphy III, Derik Queen and Yves Missi.
