The Golden State Warriors (9-6) take their extended road trip to Florida tonight, where they’ll take on the Orlando Magic (7-7) at the Kia Center in Orlando.
Golden State enters on a three-game winning streak that includes back-to-back wins over Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
Stephen Curry has been electric, scoring 46 points in the first meeting and then topping it with 49 on Friday night. The Warriors then coasted past the hapless New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday to close out the week.
Orlando, meanwhile, is coming off a tough 117-113 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets — the NBA’s top offense. The Magic led by nine at halftime and by as many as 14 before Houston stormed back.
The loss snapped Orlando’s three-game winning streak, but they proved they can hang with a top Western Conference team even without Paolo Banchero, who remains out with a groin strain. Desmond Bane (26 points) and Franz Wagner (29 points) led the way, and Bane has now scored 22 or more in four of his last six games — exactly the scoring punch Orlando hoped he’d bring alongside their frontcourt duo of Banchero and Wagner.
Prediction
Expect a close one, but Golden State’s momentum — and the level Curry is playing at right now — gives them a clear edge, even on the road.
Prediction: Warriors 114, Magic 111
