Portland Trail Blazers vs Chicago Bulls Preview

The Portland Trail Blazers find themselves in a major slump when it comes to both play and results. The start of the season was relatively strong for them, considering they won four of their first six games, with the only losses coming against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers. Even in those matchups, they looked solid, and it didn’t seem like such a sudden drop-off was on the horizon. It feels like fatigue caught up with them, but what’s more concerning is the fact that they failed to capitalize on a favorable schedule in recent games. Over their last six outings, the team has just one win—against the New Orleans Pelicans—and they are currently on a three-game losing streak.

In the lead-up to this matchup, the Portland Trail Blazers faced the Phoenix Suns and didn’t have much to be happy about. The visiting team cruised to a routine 110–127 victory, extending Portland’s poor run. The Blazers looked very good in the first half, but suffered a huge drop-off in the third quarter. Defensively, they struggled immensely and allowed 36 points, essentially losing the game in that stretch. They weren’t able to bounce back in the fourth, and the Phoenix Suns closed out the contest with ease. Shaedon Sharpe is in excellent form—he scored 29 points and was the team’s top performer. Deni Avdija also stood out with 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

The Chicago Bulls, on the other hand, have suffered an unbelievable drop in form recently. The team opened the new season extremely well, and it looked like they could finally make a step forward compared to previous years. They won their first five games, and after the opening seven matchups they had only one loss. However, things quickly went downhill from there. After losing to the Milwaukee Bucks, they entered a five-game losing streak, effectively erasing the great start they had enjoyed. The toughest loss came most recently, when they were defeated by the Utah Jazz after two overtimes, 150–147.

What the Chicago Bulls can be encouraged by heading into this matchup is the fact that they managed to get back on the winning track—if only temporarily. In their last outing, they picked up a very important victory against the Denver Nuggets, beating them on the road 127–130. They stayed competitive throughout the first half and didn’t allow Denver to control the pace or break the game open. In the third quarter, they reminded everyone of their early-season performances, especially offensively. Ball movement was phenomenal, they put up 40 points, and built a double-digit lead. The Nuggets attempted a comeback, but the Bulls kept their composure and secured the win as heavy underdogs. Ayo Dosunmu delivered one of his best performances of the season with 21 points, and Josh Giddey matched him with 21 points of his own, adding 14 rebounds and six assists.

Where to Watch Portland Trail Blazers vs Chicago Bulls?

Portland Trail Blazers vs Chicago Bulls Best Betting Tip and Prediction

The Portland Trail Blazers have a chance to regain their rhythm at home. They face a team that is generally in very poor form and comes off a game where they expended a lot of energy over 48 minutes, giving the Blazers an advantage in terms of freshness. With the support of their home crowd, they will certainly have extra motivation. Our suggestion is that, even in the event of a loss, the game will remain close, and the Trail Blazers will not be defeated by more than four points.
