Keep an eye out for some Boston Celtics gear of an entirely different sort than we are used to, gear that elevates the team’s deep roots going all the way back to the NBA’s primordial origins in the years following the second world war when the fledgling Association was still called the Basketball Association of America (BAA). This new line of Cs apparel is called “46 Reserve” — a nod to that foundational season of 1946-47 for the BAA.

Per a release circulated by the Celtics, 46 Reserve “pays homage to one of the original franchises of the NBA founded in 1946 — built upon by legends, banners, a dedicated fanbase, parquet, and the famous victory cigar.” The clothing line will reflect that lofty title via “thoughtfully created designs, limited runs, and continued stewardship of the Boston Celtics brand.”

A launch event was held today in Boston at the HUB on Causeway, and if you did happen to attend today, we’ve attached some images of the line for you to feast your eyes on below.
