The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel on the road to face the Utah Jazz on Friday. It’s the first matchup of the season between the two squads. This is also a 2025 NBA Cup West Group A group play.

The Thunder (15-1) have won seven in a row. They did just enough to collect a 113-99 win over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 33 points and eight rebounds. Chet Holmgren scored an efficient 21 points.

Meanwhile, the Jazz (5-9) couldn’t stop the Los Angeles Lakers in a 140-126 loss on Tuesday. Lauri Markannen had 31 points and Keyonte George had 34 points in the blowout defeat.

Thunder 133, Jazz 113: This should be a more fun matchup than usual. When the Jazz aren’t giving up video-game-esque numbers, they’re scoring a bunch. Markkanen has revamped his trade value. George has leaped as a scorer. That said, the Thunder and Jazz are on completely opposite sides of the NBA highway. Gilgeous-Alexander should be able to put up a monster scoring number. Same with the rest of the roster. There’s a chance this is a close game in the first half, but OKC should run away with it in the second half.

ODDS: Thunder by 16.5 points
