The Sacramento Kings will be without Domantas Sabonis for a few weeks.

The center experienced left knee soreness following the Nov. 16 game against the San Antonio Spurs and an MRI revealed that Sabonis suffered a partial meniscus tear in his knee, the team announced on Thursday, Nov. 20.

He is expected to be reevaluated in three to four weeks.

“Not happy. Feel for him obviously,” Kings head coach Doug Christie told reporters on Thursday. “We need the big fellow, but it’s the nature of what we do, and we know that when we sign up. It’s unfortunate. Love him and hope he gets well soon.”

Sabonis had 17 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Kings in the 123-110 loss to the Spurs.

Sabonis has also dealt with a hamstring strain and a rib issue that caused him to miss games during the early part of the season.

Domantas Sabonis stats

Sabonis has averaged 17.2 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 11 games played this season. The Kings entered Thursday with a 3-12 record.
