The Indiana Pacers (2-13) visit the Cleveland Cavaliers (10-6) tonight for a Friday night matchup at Rocket Arena in Cleveland.

Indiana is coming off a rare bright spot — a 127–118 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Bennedict Mathurin, in just his second game back from injury, has picked up from where he left off, scoring 24 points against the Hornets.

Pascal Siakam, who has been holding the fort as best as possible amid the barrage of injuries, totalled 22 points, while T.J. McConnell added 14 off the bench. Andrew Nembhard and Ben Sheppard chipped in 16 and 15, respectively.

When Mathurin is healthy, Indiana has shown it can hang with weaker defenses — but Cavs are not among them.

Cleveland enters with a top-10 defensive rating and a top-10 offense. But their scoring has dipped to 110.8 points per game over their last three outings after a six-game stretch in which they scored 128 or more.

The Cavaliers come in off a 114-104 loss to the Houston Rockets — the league’s second-highest-scoring team. Houston held Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen to a combined 47 points, well below their usual 63.8-point average.

Facing Indiana tonight, Cleveland has an ideal chance to re-ignite its offense.

Prediction

Cleveland’s defensive discipline, size advantage, and overall roster stability should overwhelm an Indiana team that still struggles on both ends when the pace quickens. Expect the Cavaliers to control this one from early on and pull away late.

Prediction: Cavaliers 118, Pacers 105
