The Minnesota Timberwolves (10-5) visit the Phoenix Suns (9-6) tonight at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.

Both teams enter with high-powered offenses — each averaging around 120 points per game — top-13 defensive ratings, and four wins in their last five outings.

Those recent victories have come mostly against struggling opponents (Dallas, Sacramento, Washington), making tonight a far better barometer between two evenly matched teams. Statistically, they mirror each other across nearly every category: scoring, points allowed, rebounding, assists, and even record.

For Minnesota, the tandem of Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle continues to thrive, combining for just over 50 points per game. Jaden McDaniels has been a steady third option at 17.5 points per game, and Donte DiVincenzo has increased his productivity, averaging nearly 14 points per game.

The Suns counter with their own scoring duo: Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks, who combine for nearly 49 points per game. Grayson Allen, averaging 18.5 points, has been sidelined for over a week with a quad injury, and Phoenix dropped its first game without him last Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks.

Still, the Suns found a way to win earlier this week against the shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers despite modest nights from Booker and Brooks, getting six players in double figures in a 127–110 victory.

Tonight, Phoenix faces a much tougher matchup on both ends — and they may feel Allen’s absence once again.

Prediction
