After one of the greatest seasons ever, the Oklahoma City Thunder hope to cross off another goal from their bucket list. The 2025 NBA Cup continues with its group play. The reigning NBA champion fell just short of winning the in-season tournament last year when they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the finals.
The Thunder are off to a hot start, as they will play most of their group games in the final week of November. They collected a weird 144-112 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday. The other West Group A teams are the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings.

After trailing by 18 points, the Thunder chipped away at Utah’s lead. A surreal 33-4 third-quarter run flipped this game upside down. Leading by as many as 36 points, the Thunder had an eye-popping 54-point swing in this game alone.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 31 points and eight assists in three quarters. All 12 OKC players logged minutes and scored at least five points. This was a more impressive blowout than usual, considering how the game script played out.
There are six groups of five teams throughout the NBA. Three for each conference. Each team will play each other in their group round-robin style from Oct. 31 to Nov. 28.
After the group stage standings are finalized, the six group winners and two wildcard teams. The 2025 NBA Cup semifinals and championship will be played in Las Vegas from Dec. 13-16. A financial bonus for the entire roster is on the line.
