Jaylen Brown is not happy with how his teammates on the Boston Celtics played in their 113-105 loss to the Brooklyn Nets at TD Garden this past Friday (Nov. 21) night. In what was likely the worst loss of the Celtics’ still-young 2025-25 regular season campaign, Boston delivered a lackluster effort with poor focus leading to an abominable defensive outing coupled with an uninspired response from the team’s veterans save Brown.

Asked what his immediate thoughts were following the loss to the Nets, it was clear that the Georgia native was perturbed by how his teammates played in the game. “What’s my initial takeaway?” asked Brown in response to the query via CLNS Media. “Come ready to play or don’t come at all.”

“At the end of the day, we’ve all got a job to do,” he answered in reply to whether the win on Tuesday (Nov. 20) night on the road. “We’re all getting paid to do what we love to do.”

“Come ready to play basketball, or you’re doing a disservice. So everybody’s got to come in and be ready to do their job and have great energy, enthusiasm, and want to win.”
