The Brooklyn Nets are feeling good about themselves after beating the Boston Celtics on Friday in their NBA Cup matchup in what looked to be a victory of convincing fashion. Brooklyn was able to right the wrongs of their previous matchup against the Celtics, but as the Nets continue with their road trip, they could be without two key members of the rotation.

The Nets announced on Saturday that center Nic Claxton and rookie guard Egor Demin are probable for Sunday’s game at the Toronto Raptors due to their respective injuries. Claxton is dealing with a left elbow sprain while Demin is dealing with neck/jaw soreness that could keep both players out of the lineup, but it seems that they are closer to playing than not.

Claxton is coming off the best game of his career as he notched his first triple-double of 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists despite facing a solid Celtics defense. If Claxton is unable to play, that would mean that Day’Ron Sharpe, Brooklyn’s backup center, could be in line to start against the Raptors, a role that he hasn’t had many chances to assume due to Claxton’s constant availability.

Demin, who put up 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists, had been playing some of the best basketball that he had played this season after having a rough start to the season. If Demin was unable to take the floor in Toronto, head coach Jordi Fernandez could look to someone like Tyrese Martin to assume the starting point guard role in Demin’s place.

In what is probably due to the nature of the Nets being on the road, rookies Danny Wolf and Nolan Traore are out for Sunday’s game at the Raptors as they remain on their G League assignment with Long Island. This could mean that Fernandez would be moving forward with a nine-man rotation against the Raptors if Claxton and Demin are healthy, but if either of them miss the game, forward Jalen Wilson could see some playing time.
