The Memphis Grizzlies (5-11) visit the Dallas Mavericks (5-12) tonight at 8:30 PM Eastern / 7:30 PM Central at the American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas.
Both teams come in with disappointing records, but each is coming off a confidence-building win. With Ja Morant sidelined, the Grizzlies dismantled another hapless team, the Sacramento Kings, 137-96 behind Santi Aldama’s 29 points and Jock Landale’s 21. Six Grizzlies scored in double figures, and rookie Cedric Coward continued his strong start with 19 points.
Dallas, meanwhile, nearly upset the New York Knicks earlier this week despite missing Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis.
And on Friday night, the Mavericks edged the New Orleans Pelicans 118–115 thanks to Naji Marshall’s go-ahead three in the final minute. Flagg returned from illness and delivered his best performance as a pro — 29 points on an efficient 12-for-19, attacking the rim and fully leveraging his size and athleticism.
Prediction
Given Dallas’s home-court edge and Memphis’s ongoing struggles on offense when undermanned, the Mavericks hold a modest advantage.
Prediction: Mavericks 113, Grizzlies 108
