Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green talks high school jersey retirement
Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green described his emotions after his high school jersey retirement and offered an injury update.
Houston Rockets all-star Kevin Durant will not make his return to Phoenix at this time.
Durant isn’t playing in the Nov. 24 game against the Suns or the Nov. 26 game at Golden State due to personal reasons, the Rockets confirmed on Nov. 23.
ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported the news, saying it was a family matter.
Houston (10-4) begins a four-game road trip Nov. 24 that will conclude with two games against the Utah Jazz on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
The Suns play the Rockets three more times, with the next two in Houston on Dec. 5 and Jan. 5. Houston will play its second game in Phoenix on April 7.
At that point in the season, Houston may rest Durant going into the playoffs. The Rockets are currently fifth in the West.
The Suns traded Durant to Houston before the 2025 NBA Draft and got Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft, 7-footer Khaman Maluach, in return.
The 11-time All-Star is averaging 24.6 points in 14 games. These next two games will be the first ones he misses this season.
Phoenix acquired Durant before the 2023 trade deadline in a deal that sent Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Cam Johnson and four first-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets.
Durant spent the next two full seasons in Phoenix paired up with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, but the Suns underachieved.
The Minnesota Timberwolves swept them in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
The following season, Phoenix won just 36 games and missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2019-20 season, which was the last time the Suns had a losing record.
