Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cam Spencer and Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant received technical fouls in the third quarter of Monday’s game at FedExForum after being separated during a confrontation.
The sequence started after Spencer knocked down a corner 3-pointer and turned in the direction of Durant to talk trash. Durant responded by kicking his leg out, attempting to kick or trip Spencer.

The Grizzlies bench and the players on the floor immediately noticed. Desmond Bane and Durant stood face-to-face after the Grizzlies shooting guard stepped in. Team staff and other players on the floor rushed in to separate Bane and Durant.
Spencer’s technical foul was for taunting. He is receiving more playing time on Monday because the Grizzlies are without Luke Kennard and Vince Williams Jr.
This is the fourth and final regular-season meeting between the Grizzlies and Suns this season.
