Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks knocked off the New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA Cup matchup on Friday, but they lost to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday in the second night of a back-to-back.
Now, the Mavs are set as road underdogs on Monday against the Miami Heat, who are playing the second night of a back-to-back after winning against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
Miami is over .500 this season even though All-Star guard Tyler Herro has yet to play in a single game, but he’s expected to make his return for Monday’s contest.Â
As for the Mavs, they’ve dealt with the injury bug as well, and Anthony Davis is listed as doubtful for Monday’s matchup.
Let’s take a look at the odds, my favorite prop bet and a prediction for this interconference battle on Monday.Â

In today’s best NBA props for SI Betting, I shared why Cooper Flagg is worth a look with Anthony Davis doubtful:Â
Flagg should have a major offensive role once again on Monday with Davis likely sitting out in this game.
Flagg enters this matchup averaging 16.1 points per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and just 27.7 percent from 3. But, he’s scored 16 or more points in five of his last seven matchups.
This is a solid matchup for Flagg, as Miami ranks No. 1 in the NBA in pace and the total for this game is all the way up at 241.5. The Heat are allowing 118.9 points per game (20th in the NBA), so Flagg and the Mavericks should be able to score more than we’re used to seeing on Monday.
Miami is coming off a huge win over the 76ers on Sunday, and now it gets Herro back in the lineup for the first time this season.
These teams couldn’t be more different, as Miami has one of the best – and most exciting – offenses in the league while the Mavericks are dead last in offensive rating and 27th in the league in effective field goal percentage.
Miami should be able to run all over this Mavs team that is down both Davis (doubtful) and Dereck Lively II (out) in this matchup. The Mavs are going to struggle to keep up offensively against the highest-scoring team in the NBA, and they’re just 1-3 on the road this season.
Miami, on the other hand, is 7-1 against the spread with an average scoring margin of +7.8 in those games.
I’ll lay the points with the Heat in Herro’s return.Â
Pick: Heat -8.5 (-120 at DraftKings)
