Tyrese Haliburton’s recovery from the torn Achilles he suffered during June’s NBA Finals is seemingly going well.

The star point guard posted a video Monday dunking a basketball in the team’s facilities:

Actor and WWE star John Cena offered words of encouragement:

The Pacers already ruled Haliburton out for the 2025-26 season, so fans shouldn’t take Monday’s update as a sign of his pending return. Recovering from an Achilles tear normally carries an 8-10 month rehabilitation timeline, putting the most optimistic of recoveries somewhere around late February and realistically around April.

There also wouldn’t be any point in having him return in a lost season, and Indiana is trending that way, currently sporting a 2-14 record. So Haliburton’s recovery appears to be going well, but there’s no reason for the 25-year-old to rush back and jeopardize his long-term health.
