The Denver Nuggets (12-4) visit the Memphis Grizzlies (6-11) tonight at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee.
Denver is coming off a surprising loss to the Sacramento Kings — a Kings team that entered the game at 3–13. Nikola Jokic was spectacular once again, finishing with 44 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Jamal Murray added 23 points and Cameron Johnson chipped in 20.
The offense wasn’t the issue. Denver’s defense faltered, and the absence of Aaron Gordon loomed large. Gordon, out with a hamstring injury until at least early January, is a key part of the Nuggets’ core trio with Jokić and Murray, a group that typically combines for more than 70 points per night.
That setback capped a back-to-back, and the Nuggets should be better rested tonight. They still hold a clear advantage on paper, but Memphis has begun to show signs of life.
The Grizzlies have won two straight, beating both the Kings and the Dallas Mavericks to move to 6–11 — all without Ja Morant. Santi Aldama has been excellent during this stretch, averaging 24.5 points over the two wins, while rookie Cedric Coward added 19 in the win over Sacramento.
This matchup still tilts strongly toward Denver, but Memphis is finally getting some encouraging contributions from its young pieces.
Prediction
Even with Gordon sidelined, the Nuggets’ experience and star power give them the edge.
Prediction: Nuggets 122, Grizzlies 109
