The Bucks are learning the hard way what life looks like without Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Tuesday marks one week since word dropped that Milwaukee’s superstar had been diagnosed with a low-grade groin strain, an injury expected to keep him out at least a week or two.
Since then, it’s been rough. The Bucks have lost four straight, including Monday’s home stumble to a Portland team missing half its rotation.
But there is at least a little movement here.
Antetokounmpo was on the floor getting shots up before Monday’s game, per Eric Nehm of The Athletic, and he’ll travel with the Bucks on their upcoming two-game trip to Miami on Wednesday and New York on Friday. That’s a start.
Doc Rivers isn’t banking on a return just yet. The Bucks coach told reporters he’s not expecting Antetokounmpo to suit up on the trip, but he does believe both Giannis and Kevin Porter Jr. are getting close.
Porter is working his way back from meniscus surgery and was already trending toward an early-December return.
