OKLAHOMA CITY –

Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Hartenstein and his family helped serve Thanksgiving meals Monday at Positive Tomorrows, spending time with students and families experiencing homelessness.

Hartenstein visited Positive Tomorrows on Monday to help provide a Thanksgiving celebration for families who rely on the nonprofit. Positive Tomorrows is Oklahoma’s only elementary school and social service agency dedicated to serving children and families experiencing homelessness.

Hartenstein served meals, posed for photos, and played games with students throughout the visit. The family is well known at Positive Tomorrows and regularly works with the organization.

The event is part of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 18th season of Holiday Assist, a series of more than three dozen activities designed to lift the spirits of Oklahomans during the holiday season.

Hartenstein said he values the chance to connect with students in a meaningful way.

“I have been working a lot with Positive Tomorrows and we wanted to give back a little Thanksgiving meal,” Hartenstein said. “We had some activities that the kids can do. Even talking to some of the kids, they know me more for being here rather than basketball, so I think that is something that has been really cool just to hear.”

Hartenstein said his hope is that events like this give the students confidence and help them believe they can accomplish anything.
