At this point, stating that LeBron James is in the final chapter of his career is no exaggeration; it’s a definite assertion. What remains unclear is whether he’ll finish his career as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers or if he has one more move left in him.

Some fans of a franchise he previously played for are hoping for the latter.

Miami Heat Fans Ask for LeBron James To Return to Their Team

James has consistently demonstrated throughout his storied career that he possesses an elite basketball IQ. He doesn’t just display this on the court, but also when he discusses basketball on the ‘Mind the Game‘ podcast.

During Friday’s episode, he once again displayed this knowledge by praising the things that the Heat are doing well this season.

These praises have reached the Heat faithful, and it has led them to ask James to make a return.

“I’m literally tearing up man. Please God get him back on my team. It would make my life,” one fan said.

“Imagine LeBron as a vet on this team. If he accepts the role, less minutes, but to help in a mentor role, back in the 305… we’re partying and he extends his career,” another said.

While James’ stint with the Heat didn’t end with a title, it’s still remembered fondly by fans for their domination of the East and the high level of success they attained.

They managed to reach the NBA Finals in each of the years he was there, and won two of them (2012, 2013). He was also named the league’s MVP in those same years, demonstrating the high level of play he exhibited during that stint.

If he comes back, he will serve as a championship-caliber mentor to the Heat’s young stars. He will also likely remain an effective pick-and-roll partner to Bam Adebayo and generate plays for Tyler Herro, creating a dynamic offense.
