Wembanyama suffered a calf strain, which is among the more serious short-term injuries in the NBA right now. Because of it, he has been forced to miss time on the court.
Without him available, De’Aaron Fox was tasked with stepping up and taking on a bigger role for San Antonio – but it took him some time to find his rhythm offensively.
But over time, he grew into that role and found ways to lead the team.
