Free agent guard Josh Christopher is back in the Miami Heat organization, signing with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the team announced Saturday.
According to the team’s press release, Christopher will make his debut Saturday against the Grand Rapids Gold (Denver Nuggets affiliate).
Christopher, 23, spent last year in the Heat organization, signing a two-way contract in July of 2024. He spent most of his season in Sioux Falls, averaging 23.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game. He shot 44.4 percent, including 31.5 percent from 3-point range and 79.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Christopher was originally acquired by the Skyforce in 2023-24 after he spent part of the season with the Salt Lake City Stars. In 18 games, he averaged 15.8 points on 44.3/32.7/90.5 shooting splits, to go along with 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
The Houston Rockets drafted Christopher No. 24 overall in 2021. Additionally, he has 152 games of NBA experience under his belt, averaging 6.5 points in 14.4 minutes per game.
Christopher’s most recent game was in the Heat’s 2024-25 regular season-finale against the Washington Wizards. He scored 17 points with four steals and two blocks on 7-of-16 shooting in 28 minutes.
He will look to fit alongside Heat rookie Kasparas Jakucionis and guard Ethan Thompson, who has been their best player this season.
Entering Saturday, the Skyforce are 6-3 in the Showcase cup standings with seven games left. Their game against Grand Rapids will be at 8:00 p.m. EST and broadcasted at NBAGLeague.com.
