Rockets at Warriors picks and predictionsPrediction
Warriors 110, Rockets 109
LEAN WARRIORS (-145).
The Warriors enter this matchup with a significant edge thanks to their near-complete health. Golden State can stall at times when F Jimmy Butler is off the floor, and Houston has the personnel to send extra help at Curry. Even so, expect the Warriors to get to the free-throw line consistently and manage possessions late to secure the win.
With a demanding stretch of games ahead, Golden State should be especially motivated to capitalize on a favorable spot against a Houston team missing its top player.
BET HOUSTON +2.5 (-110).
Even with Durant sidelined, the Warriors will have their hands full against a Rockets team built on rebounding, defense and youthful energy. Houston isn’t typically known for creating turnovers, but this matchup sets up well for it to generate takeaways and convert them into easy points.
The Rockets are 3-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings with Golden State, a run that includes last year’s playoff series.
If Green is ruled out and unable to take on the assignment of guarding C Alperen Sengun, this play becomes even more appealing.
BET UNDER 224.5 (-105).
Golden State hasn’t shown much potential on offense beyond its 2 stars, and Houston will be without several key scorers and offensive rebounders because of injuries. Both teams are likely to endure extended dry spells, and this matchup sets up for a turnover-heavy game on both sides.
It’s still a risky play, given that the Over has hit in 7 of the Warriors’ last 10 games and in 3 of the past 4 meetings between these teams.
